These diagrams should answer all questions pertaining to the installation of the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi exhaust systems. Tools Needed for Install; 15mm Socket w/Ratchet or Air Ratchet - Pry Bar - WD-40 or Penetrating Oil.

Begin by spraying all rubber hangers rear of the muffler and both Inlet and Outlet necks on muffler.

Loosen 15mm nuts on Tailpipe side of muffler and then remove Tailpipes from truck.(tailpipes will slide out of hangers)

Loosen 15mm nut on front muffler clamp. Remove factory muffler, leaving rubber hangers on truck in place.

Put Mufflex hanger in rubber (Push in place from the front so the clamp closer to the driveshaft is the higher of the 2 clamps see figure#1).

Slide Mufflex Retro-Fit muffler in place using the rear hanger for alignment.

Put factory tailpipes back in the factory rubber hangers and slide the tailpipes back into the muffler and then snug up 3" Inlet clamp. (DO NOT USE SLITS IN INLET/OUTLET FOR ALIGNMENT THEY ARE FOR CLAMP COMPRESSION ONLY!) DO NOT TIGHTEN UP YET.

Align Tip in bumper bezel & snug tailpipe clamp. Repeat steps for passenger side. After checking alignment of tailpipe tips, begin tightening clamps from front to back.
